Studies - Specialization

The pediatric dentist George A. Andreadis was born in Thessaloniki and he graduated from Thessaloniki Dental School in 1996, with a merit. Then, he obtained a diploma in Periodontology & Preventive Dentistry after two years of postgraduate studies in Periodontology, Implant biology and Preventive dentistry in the same University.

Afterwards, he served for a period of 20 months as an officer dentist in the army, in the Hellenic Military Air force in the air force bases of Skyros, Santorini and Thessaloniki.

Thereafter, he undertook specialist postgraduate training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Leeds Dental Institute, in U.K. a world – leading University in this specific specialty. Along with advanced clinical training, Dr G. Andreadis participated to the evolution of Fluoride slow-release devices – made of soluble glass. These intraoral devices were developed for caries prevention and to alleviate dentine sensitivity. He obtained his Master of Dental Science degree at Leeds University (2000-2002) with a merit.

Publications

He has published articles in professional journals* and has lectured at international conferences in Britain and Europe. He has worked in England as a dental officer joining the NHS and in the private sector as well.

He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Thessaloniki, with a Distinction in March 2017. His thesis was: “Microbial aciduricity and acidogenicity in relation to caries activity – Perspectives for the ecological plaque hypothesis”.


* Slow release Fluoride device
A new invention for the prevention of tooth caries and the cure of sensitivity. A small device (according to the FDA) made of soluble glass that dissolves in the mouth slowly and releases Fluoride 24 hours a day for up to 2 years.

The doctor's office

Since 2003, he works in his own practice in the city center of Thessaloniki specializing in children and special needs people. A great percentage of his patients are adolescents and children with dental phobia.

He has a special interest and expertise in aesthetic dentistry, interceptive orthodontics, dental anomalies – like dental hypoplasia -, dental trauma and sports dentistry.

He is a happy father of a daughter and enjoys – except paediatric dentistry – travelling, reading books and the company of good friends.
